This general section of Unit Histories will have information that is pertinent to all the Sturmpanzer units and then in the future each unit will have its own section with information specific to them.

There were four Sturmpanzer Abteilung created: 

• Stu.Pz.Abt.216 which served in Russia then Italy.
• Stu.Pz.Abt.217 which served in the west from Normandy to Germany.
• Stu.Pz.Abt.218 which served in Poland then Prussia
• Stu.Pz.Abt.219 which served in Hungry then Czechoslovakia
